Hi everyone & Happy Thanksgiving!
I rarely find the time to dedicate any Lifestyle posts toward holiday themed topics because I don't usually celebrate any holidays due to personal and religious reasons.
However, I always seem to make time for Thanksgiving because I love the idea of unity it promotes. Being around family and friends is always a joy and to celebrate, I've come up with a list of the Top 10 things I'm thankful for. Going beyond the surface and not discussing materialistic items that can easily be taken away from us, I've come up with a list of things that mean a lot to me personally. Let the countdown begin!
10. The Beach
The beach has always been one of my favorite GO-to places to hangout with friends or clear my mind and be alone. I have a deep connection with the ocean and it's tranquility always leaves me feeling centered.
The gift of music has always been extremely near and dear to me. From as long as I could remmeber, I loved everything about music and how it made me feel.
Being surrounded by beautiful trees and land has always provided an outlet for reflection.
Having access to clean water (although we here in California are in a drought) is something that I will never take for granted and I am extremely thankful for what I'm blessed with. I'm also proud to be standing in solidarity with those who are currently protesting at Standing Rock - indigenous people are fighting to keep their sacred land and clean water #NODAPL
6. The opportunity for knowledgeable growth
I've always been a fan of learning. The ability to learn more about things will always drive my desire to be even smarter
Laughter is an essential part of my character and without it, life wouldn't be enjoyable. I'm happy to be allowed those moments of laughter when I feel like I need it most.
4. The ability to be creative
Over the years, I've found that being creative isn't easy for everyone. I am blessed to have an artistic drive that allows me to have my hand in different art forms.
3. Loyal & True Friends
Everyone knows I have the best friends on the planet. I'm thankful for their presences, loyalty, personalities and their patience because dealing with me isn't always the easiest.
Family will always been the core of who I am. I'm thankful for every member of my family and even my friends who I've adopted as family. I'm thankful for everything they do and who they are as people.
1. Self Growth
Growing personally is one of the many facets of young adulthood. At 21, I'm at an age where I'm learning about new things and applying them as my life starts to form. I believe getting to know myself has allowed me to look toward completing certain goals and challenge the things I learned when I was a lot younger.
Well everyone, there you have it. There are many other things I'm thankful for but these were the biggest on my mind today.
Hope everyone has a great rest of your holiday!
